About Diego’s Joint CIC

Diego’s Joint CIC is a values-driven social enterprise operating at the intersection of hospitality, culture, and community. Our mission is to create inclusive, creative spaces where people can connect, develop skills, and access meaningful opportunities.

We deliver a diverse programme of cultural events, creative workshops, and employability support, alongside a sustainable hospitality offer. Through this hybrid model, we reinvest trading income into social initiatives that support individuals facing barriers to employment, social isolation, and poor wellbeing.

As we enter a new phase of growth, we are seeking an Events & Income Generation Lead to play a central role in strengthening both our commercial sustainability and social impact.

Purpose of the Role

The Events & Income Generation Lead will lead the design and delivery of an integrated programme of events, skills development, and employability initiatives.

This role is pivotal in transforming Diego’s Joint’s successful but ad hoc activity into a structured, sustainable model that balances income generation with meaningful community outcomes.

Acting as a bridge between our hospitality, creative, and community strands, the postholder will:

  • Increase revenue through a high-quality events programme
  • Develop clear employability pathways with local employers
  • Build strategic partnerships across sectors
  • Strengthen Diego’s Joint’s reputation as a leading social enterprise

Running through these strands of activity will be the development of clear employability pathways for our target beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities

Events Development and Delivery

  • Develop and manage a dynamic, year-round events programme including live music, exhibitions, spoken word, themed nights, and creative workshops
  • Curate a balanced portfolio of commercial and community-led events, ensuring both financial viability and accessibility
  • Collaborate with artists, creatives, and local organisations to platform regional talent and underrepresented voices
  • Oversee all aspects of event delivery including planning, logistics, budgeting, and health & safety
  • Introduce and manage volunteering and work experience opportunities linked to events

Employability and Skills Development

  • Co-design and deliver a structured Employability Pathway Programme aligned to local labour market needs
  • Build progression routes into employment across hospitality, events, customer service, and creative industries
  • Deliver workshops and training sessions (e.g. CV writing, interview skills, communication, teamwork)
  • Coordinate 1:1 support, mentoring, and peer learning opportunities
  • Support the development of accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities
  • Embed employability outcomes into all relevant organisational activity

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
