Location
Based local to Worksop or Chelmsford
Salary
£45k - £50k per annum
Working Hours
Monday to Friday with flexibility required

We’re working with a well-established, global multiband business. The Event Lead is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the global trade show and event program. The role serves as the primary Marketing partner for trade shows and events, coordinating with internal stakeholders, event organisers, exhibit partners, vendors, and other external resources to ensure events are planned effectively, executed professionally, and aligned with business priorities.
The Event Lead owns the full event lifecycle, from annual planning and event cost management support through registration, booth development, logistics, team readiness, on-site execution, lead capture, and post-show review. The role also contributes light strategic support through event research, measurement, and recommendations and manages marketing storefront and promotional merchandise program.
The Role
Global Trade Show Planning & Execution
- Manage the planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, and industry events globally from initial planning through post-show review.
- Maintain the annual global trade show calendar and associated project plans, schedules, deadlines, budgets, and required deliverables.
- Coordinate event registration, exhibit-space reservations, sponsorship opportunities, contracts, required forms, and event-organiser communications.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day Marketing contact for trade show organisers, exhibit houses, booth builders, freight providers, vendors, and other event-related partners.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and regional stakeholders to establish the objective, audience, product focus, staffing requirements, and desired outcomes for each event.
- Coordinate booth design and development, including layouts, graphics, product displays, demonstrations, literature, promotional items, technology, and other show assets.
- Manage show services and logistics including electrical, internet, furnishings, labor, material handling, freight, hotel coordination, meeting-space requirements, badges, and other exhibitor needs.
- Responsible for internal show communications, schedules, staffing information, deadlines, booth expectations, and other details required to prepare participating team members.
- Provide on-site event support when required travel up to 20%; track event expenses and maintain organised contracts, booth plans, vendor information, assets, schedules, and historical records.

Trade Show Strategy, Measurement & Improvement
- Research and evaluate potential trade shows based on audience, participating customers, market relevance, geographic reach, competitor presence, cost, historical performance, and business priorities.
- Support development of the annual trade show plan and provide recommendations regarding event participation, booth size, sponsorship opportunities, and level of investment.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and appropriate owners to ensure trade show leads are captured, distributed, and available for follow-up.
- Monitor and report on event performance, including lead volume and quality, target-account engagement, customer meetings, booth activity, and other available indicators.
- Prepare post-show summaries and use event results, stakeholder feedback, and historical information to recommend improvements to future show selection, booth strategy, vendors, processes, and execution.
Marketing Storefront & Promotional Merchandise
- Manage the day-to-day administration of marketing storefront and promotional merchandise program.
- Serve as the primary Marketing contact for the storefront vendor and other promotional-product suppliers.
- Maintain the storefront product assortment and coordinate the addition, replacement, and retirement of merchandise as needed.
- Coordinate product selection, pricing, artwork, approvals, production, inventory, and fulfillment for new and existing promotional items.
- Monitor merchandise inventory, availability, usage, and spending and work with vendors to resolve fulfillment or inventory issues.
- Coordinate branded merchandise requests and special promotional-item orders for approved corporate, regional, and trade show needs.
- Ensure promotional merchandise follows brand standards and identify opportunities to improve product selection, cost efficiency, storefront usability, and fulfilment.

Essential Skills & Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in trade show management, event marketing, project management, or a related role required
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple trade shows or complex events, schedules, budgets, vendors, and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience working with exhibit houses, booth builders, freight providers, event organizers, or other external event partners strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally across multiple departments, business units, regions, or time zones
- Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and project-management skills; experience with CRM, event, or project-management systems preferred
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require
