What You'll Do

As an Events Manager at The Dorchester, you will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless, elegant, and memorable experiences for our guests - whether they are celebrating life’s milestones or hosting high-profile corporate functions. In this role, you will:

  • Handle and manage event enquiries and annual bookings, ensuring each guest receives personalised attention from the first point of contact through to post-event follow-up.
  • Optimise business opportunities by promoting our event spaces and services, ensuring maximum occupancy and guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in menu tastings, entertainment planning, and special arrangements, bringing creativity and precision to every detail.
  • Offer expert guidance to guests on event logistics, showcasing in-depth product knowledge of The Dorchester’s unique offerings.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery by working closely with colleagues across departments, including culinary, service, and front-of-house teams.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in responding to bespoke requests and special occasions, always aiming to exceed guest expectations.

What You'll Bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an events or banqueting role within a five-star luxury establishment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a natural ability to build client relationships while optimising revenue opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse expectations with warmth and professionalism.
  • Confident and articulate in client-facing situations, with a passion for turning ideas into unforgettable guest experiences.
  • Ability to remain calm, organised, and solution-focused under pressure.
  • Fluency in English is required for effective collaboration across departments and client communication.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with event management software and hotel booking systems.
  • A flair for creative planning, including floral arrangements, lighting, and entertainment.
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivities and etiquette, especially in the context of international clientele.
