Our client is a leading international law firm with a strong global presence and a reputation for delivering exceptional client service.

They are seeking an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning, execution and continuous improvement of a strategic events programme that supports business development objectives, strengthens client relationships and enhances brand visibility.

This is a highly visible role, managing a varied programme of UK and international events while leading and developing a small events team. The successful individual will play a key role in delivering high-quality, measurable events that contribute directly to the firm's commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with Business Development teams and senior stakeholders to develop client-focused event programmes aligned to business objectives.
  • Contribute to annual event planning and support the development of a structured events calendar.
  • Evaluate proposed event opportunities, providing recommendations based on commercial value, return on investment and strategic alignment.
  • Review established events and identify opportunities for enhancement, innovation and improved efficiency.

Event Delivery & Project Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-profile and complex events across multiple offices and practice areas.
  • Manage all aspects of event delivery including venue sourcing, supplier management, logistics, catering, registrations and on-site coordination.
  • Ensure events are delivered to a consistently high standard, on time and within budget.
  • Attend events as required to oversee successful execution and troubleshoot any operational issues.

Communications & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage event communications from invitation through to post-event follow-up.
  • Produce and oversee event-related content, including invitations, promotional materials and attendee communications.
  • Maintain regular communication with partners, business development teams and other internal stakeholders regarding upcoming activity.
  • Manage and maintain an accessible events calendar for senior stakeholders.

Budget & Reporting

  • Oversee event budgets and ensure effective cost control across the events programme.
  • Manage supplier onboarding, invoice processing and budget reconciliation in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Develop and implement post-event evaluation processes to measure attendance, engagement, ROI and overall effectiveness.
  • Produce regular reports and insights to support future event planning and decision-making.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Utilise CRM and email marketing platforms to manage invitations, registrations and attendee engagement.
  • Maintain accurate event records, contact data and filing systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in event processes, systems and reporting capabilities.
  • Monitor industry trends, technology developments and best practices within the events sector.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Events professionals.
  • Allocate workloads and provide guidance across the wider events programme.
  • Promote best practice and support colleagues across marketing, business development and other business services teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience managing a broad range of corporate events from concept through to delivery and evaluation.
  • Significant experience leading and developing an events team.
  • Previous experience within a professional services environment, ideally legal, financial or consulting sectors.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience managing budgets and evaluating event performance and ROI.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior executives and external suppliers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM and email marketing platforms.
  • Familiarity with virtual and hybrid event technologies.
  • Experience with specialist event management systems and CRM platforms would be advantageous.
