Job Description
We’re on the lookout for a highly organised and experienced Events Manager to join our vibrant team at one of the most iconic cultural destinations in the world, The British Museum. As part of the Benugo family, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional events and memorable guest experiences, ensuring every event is planned and executed to the highest standard. Working closely with internal stakeholders, clients and operational teams, you'll help bring a diverse programme of conferences, hospitality and special events to life in one of the world's most renowned venues.
Please note that: We're a 7-day operation, so we're looking for candidates with full-time availability and the flexibility to work any day of the week (Monday-Sunday).
- Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Contract: Full Time, Permanent
- Working pattern: 5 over 7 days, including evenings, weekends and occasional unsociable hours due to event requirements.
About the Events Manager role:
- Oversee the planning and delivery of conferences, hospitality and events, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and guest experience
- Support the Event GM in the day-to-day management of the events operation and wider events team
- Manage event administration, maintaining accurate event records, timelines, client requirements and operational documentation
- Coordinate event logistics with catering, front of house, security and venue teams to ensure seamless event execution
- Prepare event briefings, operational plans and client communications, ensuring all stakeholders are fully informed
- Build strong relationships with clients and venue partners, responding to enquiries, requests and feedback professionally and promptly
- Monitor event performance, identify opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiency
- Support the creation and presentation of event menus and hospitality packages alongside culinary and operational teams
- Assist with forecasting, event costing and financial administration to ensure events are delivered within budget
- Provide guidance, support and development to team members, helping to maintain a positive and high-performing culture

About the ideal candidate:
- Previous experience in an Events Manager or Event Operations role, ideally within hospitality, catering, conferencing or venue-based events
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and event workflows simultaneously
- Strong administration and attention to detail, with experience maintaining accurate event documentation and records
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence liaising with clients, suppliers and internal teams
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Experience delivering high-quality events and creating outstanding customer experiences
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work evenings and weekends when required
- Passionate about delivering operational excellence and memorable guest experiences
