Job Description

About Us

Fusion, the process that powers the sun and stars, is one of the most promising options for generating the cleaner, carbon-free energy that our world badly needs. UKAEA leads the way in realizing fusion energy, partnering with industry and research organisations to achieve ground-breaking advancements. Our goal is to bring fusion electricity to the grid by developing the power stations of tomorrow and the skilled workforce to deliver them.

About the Job

As Events Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of high-quality internal and external events that support UKAEA’s strategic goals. You’ll shape the organisation’s long-term events strategy, oversee delivery across a wide range of national and international events, and help ensure every event reflects UKAEA’s brand and professional standards.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver an events strategy aligned with UKAEA’s communications strategy and wider organisational goals.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of in-person events at Culham and external venues.
  • Manage and mentor the events team, upholding high professional standards and supporting development.
  • Oversee event budgets and ensure effective financial management.
  • Maintain consistent event branding and corporate identity across all activity.
  • Act as the main point of contact for event enquiries from initial request through to post-event feedback.
  • Work with marketing, design, creative media and social media teams to promote events effectively.
  • Champion and develop the use of Indico as UKAEA’s internal event registration platform.
  • Evaluate event performance and use feedback and market insight to improve future activity.
  • Assess potential strategic partnerships that could strengthen event marketing and delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
