Role Overview
A national sports governing body is seeking an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning and delivery of national competitions and corporate events. The role covers the full event lifecycle management, from concept to completion, and involves coordinating delivery teams, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with technical rules and health and safety requirements, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is a field-based role with regular attendance at the organisation’s Loughborough headquarters and flexibility around event delivery.

Responsibilities
- Event planning: Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of national competitions and corporate events.
- Team coordination: Chair planning meetings and manage contractors, suppliers, staff, and volunteers.
- Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships across internal teams, Home Nations, and external partners.
- Compliance: Ensure events meet technical rules, strategic objectives, and health & safety standards.
- Budget management: Manage event budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Operational efficiency: Identify cost efficiencies and secure high-quality services at best value.
- Project representation: Represent the Events team at project and governance meetings.
- Concept development: Support new event concepts and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the wider Sport team and Home Nations.
- Values & culture: Embed organisational values across all event planning and delivery.

Requirements
We need someone who is:
- Experienced in event project management (minimum 2 years)
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Skilled at leading and motivating diverse delivery teams
- Strong in communication and stakeholder engagement
- Confident managing budgets and financial processes
- Analytical, able to draft plans and reports using insight
- A problem-solver with a collaborative approach
- Ideally experienced in sport or aquatic events and working with volunteers
