About Nexus Black
Nexus Black is an AI-first business within IFS, built to move quickly, challenge traditional ways of working, and turn the potential of AI into real-world outcomes for enterprise customers. We build AI to solve hard problems for the industries that keep the world turning: up on power lines, down on factory floors, and out in the field.
Our products — Resolve (field service and predictive maintenance), Flow (production planning), Comply (regulatory compliance) and Reason (analytical reasoning) — are used by technicians and engineers who cannot afford a tool that doesn't work first time. We pair 40 years of IFS industrial depth with the technical pace of a start-up, and we get results in weeks, not months.
We're building a team of highly capable, high-ownership people who are comfortable operating across traditional boundaries. We care less about rigid job descriptions and more about people who can understand a problem, get hands-on, and own the outcome.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a highly motivated Events Marketing Manager to own B2B events for Nexus Black. From the first "should we even be at this event?" question through to the post-event pipeline report. You'll identify the right events for our audience, run them end-to-end, and hold every event accountable to hard numbers: pipeline influenced, leads generated, cost per meeting, and revenue contribution. This isn't logistics for its own sake, it's demand generation, delivered live.
Key Responsibilities
Event Strategy & Selection
- Build and maintain a rolling calendar of the right events for Nexus Black — flagship industry conferences, regional field days, executive roundtables, and co-marketing events with IFS — prioritized against pipeline gaps, regional targets, and industry focus areas (energy, utilities, aerospace, manufacturing).
- Evaluate event opportunities against clear go/no-go criteria: audience fit, expected pipeline value, cost, and competing priorities — and be willing to say no to events that don't earn their place.
- Translate NxB's product launches, customer proof points, and market narrative into event concepts across Resolve (field service and maintenance), Comply (compliance), and Flow (manufacturing).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Event Project Management & Execution
- Own end-to-end event management: concepting, budgeting, logistics, staffing, and on-site execution for both NxB-led and co-branded IFS events.
- Maintain event trackers giving leadership visibility into timelines, dependencies, budgets, and next steps across every live event.
- Manage relationships with venues, event organizers, vendors, and sponsorship contacts to ensure seamless delivery, on time and on budget.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for logistics, registration, speaker coordination, and attendee experience.
- Work closely with agencies and designers to create brand experiences (conference booths, roadshows, virtual events, and more) that stand out and convert
AI-First Marketing Infrastructure
- Partner with the Head of Marketing to bring AI-first ways of working into event marketing — using AI tools as the default, not an add-on.
- Become proficient in Claude Cowork for multi-step event workflows: briefing documents, run-of-show planning, post-event synthesis, and recurring reporting — compressing work that used to take days into a single working session.
- Use Claude Design for rapid production of event assets — invites, signage, one-pagers, badge and booth concepts — to supplement agency output and speed up turnaround.
- Help evaluate new AI capabilities as they ship and advise how event workflows should connect to our broader HubSpot/CRM ecosystem.
Event Marketing & Communications
- Develop pre-event, during-event, and post-event communication plans (email, landing pages, social) that drive awareness, registration, and attendance.
- Work with design and content teams — and Product Marketing — to turn positioning and customer proof points into event collateral: invites, booth messaging, follow-up nurture, and sales leave-behinds.
- Ensure brand consistency and quality across every event touchpoint, and that Nexus Black is represented as IFS's strategic, differentiated industrial AI capability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, BDRs, and solution teams so customer-facing teams walk into every event equipped with the right assets — from ABM plays to demo scripts to leave-behinds.
- Align with central IFS demand, digital, and regional marketing teams so NxB events plug into the broader company calendar rather than compete with it.
- Monitor execution across every workstream, remove blockers, and keep cross-functional stakeholders informed and on schedule.

Measurement & Optimization
- Define and track KPIs for every event — registrations, attendance, cost per lead, cost per meeting, pipeline generated, and marketing-influenced revenue — and report results to leadership after every event.
- Operate directly within HubSpot for event campaign setup, attribution, and reporting.
- Run structured post-event debriefs, capture what worked and what didn't, and feed those learnings into the next event on the calendar.
- Prepare event overview decks and ROI summaries for leadership review.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Own the events budget: tracking spend against plan, managing vendor invoicing, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across every event.
Qualifications
- Proven success running B2B events, ideally within an enterprise software or technology organization.
- Excellent project management skills — organized, structured, and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities at once.
- Detail-oriented and logical, able to manage complex event workflows with precision under pressure.
- Comfortable navigating a matrix organization to secure the direction and support required from central and regional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with a business-level command of English (plus the appropriate local language for the market this role is based in).
- Skilled relationship builder with polish, tact, and a sense of humor; a team player who can influence internal and external stakeholders alike.
- Flexible, adaptable, and resourceful in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Genuine curiosity about AI tools and how they can reshape marketing operations — you don't need to be technical, but you should want to be an early adopter.
