We're a small, hybrid, AI-by-default team. We move fast, write as we speak, and enjoy building things that matter.
The Opportunity
We run one of the fastest-growing event brands in investing – the Modern Investor Summit in London, New York, and San Francisco as well as awards, roundtables, virtual events, and networking events – and right now every vendor contract, floorplan, and sponsor management runs through one person. This role exists to fix that.
We're hiring an operations manager, someone who can take a venue brief, a vendor list, and a budget, and turn it into a flawless day of live production – without needing to be told each step. Someone who sees a floorplan and instantly spots the loading-dock problem before it happens.
Why This Role, Why Now
Modern Investor Summit started as a single online event – now it's an in-person global series. London runs every year but is growing year on year. New York is scaling toward a 2,000-person, multi-stage format. San Francisco is next.
We want a single person who owns the operational engine behind the events so it runs the same way whether it's a few hundred people in London or thousands in New York.
Core Responsibilities
- Own (negotiate and manage) vendors and vendor contracts (AV, catering, security, staging, signage) for events
- Own venue logistics and floorplan execution, tracked against budget
- Make sure deadlines are kept on top of and track each vendor deliverables
- Be the main point of contact to any third-party agencies
- Work closely with the head of events on budgets
- Build standing vendor relationships that travel city to city instead of being rebuilt from scratch each time
- Help shape the look and feel of events and work closely with the design team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What We're Looking For
- 3-4 years' experience in live event production or event operations, ideally including events of 300+ attendees
- A track record of running vendor negotiations and contracts yourself
- Comfortable owning cost lines for an event
- Calm, decisive onsite presence – you've handled a live event problem in real time
- Experience in working across multiple cities and venues
- Excellent written communication for a small, fast-moving, remote-friendly team
- Bonus but not essential: Experience with financial services, fintech, or media-sector events
- Bonus but not essential: Existing vendor relationships in London, New York, or San Francisco events markets
The Environment
UK-based, hybrid in London. Our offices are in Barbican, London. You'll travel regularly to New York and San Francisco around in-person events.
Small and lean by design. You'll be joining a small, senior, fast-moving team, where you'll have an outsized impact. You will therefore have unusual autonomy and ownership – and a fair amount of ambiguity to solve at times, leaving nowhere to hide.
AI by default. We use AI to move faster and think bigger. You'll thrive by treating it as a "force multiplier".
You'll work directly with our Head of Events, and get exposure to the wider leadership team.
Feedback is direct, the bar is high, and given to help you improve and us all deliver our goals.
We take the work seriously and ourselves a lot less. Expect camaraderie, regular socials, and team offsites – plus the particular satisfaction of a live show landing well.
Benefits and Perks
- Competitive salary (£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience)
- Generous equity package
- 33 days annual holiday (25 days plus UK bank holidays)
- Personal development budget
- Full perks package - virtual GP, gym and retail discounts, salary sacrifice schemes for vehicles, bikes, childcare, elderly care, and more
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
- Direct exposure to – and collaboration with – the leadership team
- The opportunity to make a big impact and contribute from day one

Finimize is an equal opportunity employer. We hire for talent, instinct, and fit with the work – and we welcome applicants from every background.
Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. Finimize Mantras
🐶 Eat your own dog food
When you build something, ask yourself if you'd use it. When you write something, ask if you'd read it. When you design something, ask yourself if you'd understand it. If the answer's anything other than a resounding yes, you need to keep at it until you convince yourself. You should be your own biggest critic.
😎 See something, say something, do something
We hire problem-solvers: if we see something that's not working, we don't hang about till someone gives us permission to solve it. We just solve it. And sure, we use data to help us spot opportunities to improve, but our hunches are just as – if not more – important. It's our gut instincts that sets us apart from the competition, after all.
😘 Keep it simple
Our digestible, jargon-free insights are what's made Finimize such a success. So why wouldn't we live up to our own standards? Finimize has been innovative since day one, turning limited resources into big results. We stay focused, use our time wisely, and call it out if we're overcomplicating straightforward issues.
🥰 Enlighten and delight our customers
Finimizers come to us for our smart insights, but they stay with us because we delight them day in and day out. So we don't just create nuanced, fascinating analysis that equips them with the confidence they need to make smarter financial decisions: we ply our work with humor, humanity, and excitement for the future.
🙅♀️ Never accept mediocrity
"That's good enough": three words you'll never hear at Finimize. We constantly aim to give Finimizers the very best, so we take pride in every bit of work we do and constantly strive to do better. And it's not just the leadership team's responsibility to maintain those standards: no matter where in the company you sit, you're as much a part of keeping things on top form.
