Kernexus is an integrated life-science communications and events organisation, bringing together science, education and industry to create meaningful clinical impact. Our work spans scientific communications, specialist events and medical publishing, helping to turn complex evidence into clear, credible and clinically relevant conversations. From international events and educational programmes to consensus development and the International Journal of Tissue Repair, we work with clinicians, researchers, academic partners and industry leaders to connect expertise, share knowledge and support progress in tissue repair and wound care. Role purpose
The Event & Partnerships Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of Kernexus events which are hosted in the US, associated partnerships and related commercial projects.
The role combines event management, stakeholder engagement, sponsor and partner relationships, project delivery and communications support. Working closely with the CEO, Editorial Director, Chief Marketing Officer, the Event & Partnerships Manager will help ensure projects are delivered professionally, relationships are well managed and commercial opportunities are supported effectively.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is ideally based in south London, comfortable with travelling internationally a few times a year, taking ownership, managing multiple stakeholders and moving between planning, relationship management and practical delivery.

- Coordinate and manage delivery of agreed events/projects.
- Manage timelines, venues, suppliers, speakers, sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Manage sponsor and speaker liaison, briefing calls and project timelines.
- Coordinate pre-recorded sessions, recording edits, live delivery and post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate event programmes, registration, communications and on-site delivery.
- Ensure events and webinars run smoothly, responding to changes and resolving issues as they arise.
- Support consensus documents and similar specialist meetings, including attendee, stakeholder and venue coordination.
- Support the delivery of sponsor-led meetings and related commercial projects.
- Monitor project costs and supplier spend, identifying opportunities to improve value.
Partnerships and stakeholder management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, speakers, and other key stakeholders.
- Act as a main point of contact for agreed partnerships and projects.
- Support engagement with existing and prospective commercial partners.
- Coordinate regular updates and communications across multiple stakeholders.
- Represent Kernexus professionally in meetings, events and external communications.
Sponsorship and Partnerships
- Support the identification and development of sponsor and partnership opportunities.
- Support and maintain relationships with prospective commercial partners and coordinate introductions and meetings.
- Coordinate information and provide input into proposals/budgets and commercial planning.
- Support communications planning around events, partnerships and commercial projects.
Communications and audience engagement
- Draft and coordinate stakeholder communications, event updates and promotional messaging.
- Support campaign messaging, event launches, partnership activity, website updates and social content where required.
- Work collaboratively with marketing and editorial colleagues to ensure communications are coordinated and aligned.
- Support the development of clear messaging for sponsors, attendees, speakers and other stakeholder groups.
- Review event engagement, feedback and market response to inform future activity.

Digital and operational support
- Coordinate website and project-site updates for agreed initiatives.
- Support projects involving platforms such as Swapcard and Wound Café, alongside other digital, design and web-development activity.
- Work with internal colleagues and external suppliers to keep projects progressing and resolve operational issues.
Experience and capabilities
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience managing professional, B2B or industry events.
- Strong project-management and organisational skills.
- Experience managing sponsors, partners, speakers, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Experience working with event-management, CRM or community platforms.
- Commercial awareness and confidence supporting sponsorship or partnership activity.
- Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence managing budgets, supplier costs and project expenditure.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confidence in taking ownership and operating independently.
- The ability to remain calm and effective when priorities change.
- A collaborative and flexible approach suited to a growing business.
Experience within healthcare, publishing, media, professional services or specialist B2B events would be advantageous.
