Role Title: Events & Projects Assistant
Organisation: Salford Pride
Location: Salford, Greater Manchester (Hybrid)
Commitment: 4–6 hours per week
Position: Voluntary (Unpaid)
About The Role
Salford Pride is looking for motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Volunteer Events & Projects Assistants. Working alongside our Board of Trustees and wider volunteer team, you'll support the planning, coordination and delivery of our events, community activities and projects, including our flagship event, The Pink Picnic. Whether you have relevant experience or are looking to develop new skills, we welcome individuals who are passionate about making a difference and committed to supporting Salford's LGBTQ+ community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, organisation and delivery of Salford Pride events and projects.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of The Pink Picnic.
- Contribute new ideas for events, fundraising and community engagement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with trustees and volunteers to deliver agreed objectives.
- Support event promotion, logistics and operational activities.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate progress and meet agreed deadlines.
- Help ensure events are safe, accessible and inclusive.

About You
Experience is welcomed, but commitment and attitude matter most.
We're looking for individuals who are:
- Reliable and committed – able to dedicate time consistently and follow through on responsibilities.
- Proactive and motivated – willing to take initiative and get involved.
- Organised and accountable – able to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative – comfortable working with others and contributing ideas.
- Passionate about inclusion – enthusiastic about supporting LGBTQ+ communities.
Previous experience in events, project coordination, fundraising or community engagement would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Time Commitment
- Approximately 4–6 hours per week.
- One online meeting per month.
- One in-person meeting per month in Salford.
- Additional agreed involvement during key events.
We understand volunteers have other commitments, but we're looking for people who can actively participate, communicate consistently and complete the responsibilities they take on.
