Exams Manager

As Exams Manager within the Quality & Standards team, you will be required to demonstrate strong leadership, strategic oversight, and a high level of autonomy, self-motivation, organisational skills, and initiative. The focus of the role is to lead and manage the college's examinations function, ensuring the delivery of a professional, customer-focused, and compliant service to internal stakeholders and external organisations, including Awarding Bodies and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the college's examinations and assessment function, ensuring that all external and internal examinations are administered efficiently, accurately and in accordance with awarding-body regulations, JCQ requirements, and college policies.
  • Have overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, management, and continuous improvement of all examinations-related activities and processes across the college, ensuring that key deadlines are met and awarding body regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Provide operational leadership and management of the Exams team, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to meet business demands and deliver high levels of service. Oversee workload planning, performance management, staff development, and the implementation of efficient and effective working practices.
  • Work closely with curriculum, support services, senior leaders, and external partners to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of examinations data and processes. Produce, analyse, and present management information reports, using data to inform decision-making, identify trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
