About the Role

We are seeking a well-organised, proactive and detail-focused Exams Officer to support the effective administration and delivery of internal and external examinations across a large multi-site educational organisation. Working closely with the Exams Manager and wider Exams Team, you will help ensure examinations are conducted efficiently, securely and in line with awarding body and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate examination entries, registrations, seating plans and exam arrangements
  • Support the administration and delivery of internal and external examinations
  • Liaise with examination boards, staff, students and parents regarding examination requirements, entries and results
  • Organise invigilator bookings and act as a key point of contact for the invigilation team
  • Assist in delivering invigilator training in line with examination regulations
  • Manage exam clashes and make appropriate arrangements in accordance with regulatory guidance
  • Receive, check, store and dispatch examination materials securely
  • Produce examination timetables, statements of entry and guidance for students and staff
  • Coordinate post-results services, including reviews of marking and access to scripts
  • Support the management and deployment of invigilators during examination periods
  • Arrange the distribution of examination certificates
  • Work collaboratively with exams, data and leadership teams to ensure examinations run smoothly and securely

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of ICT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, reliable and confidential approach to work
  • Previous experience in an examinations, administration or similar role
  • Knowledge of examination regulations and awarding body processes
  • Experience using SIMS or another Management Information System (MIS), particularly Exams Organiser
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience working within an education environment

This role may require travel between sites and the secure transportation of examination materials. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding requirements

  • Salary: £28,000 - £29,000 (pro-rated to term time only)
