Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced 35 Tonne Excavator Operator to join our earthworks team on a busy project in Hailsham. The role will involve operating a 35T tracked excavator carrying out bulk earthworks, cut and fill operations, grading, muck shifting, and site preparation works.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working on large-scale earthworks projects and be confident working safely around plant, personnel, and site services. GPS machine control experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 35T tracked excavator safely and efficiently.
- Carry out bulk earthworks, including cut and fill operations.
- Excavate, grade, level, and shape material to specified levels and tolerances.
- Load dumpers and other haulage vehicles efficiently.
- Undertake site stripping, stockpiling, and material management.
- Work from GPS machine control systems, site drawings, and level information.
- Carry out formation and profiling works for roads, plots, and development platforms.
- Work safely around live services and adhere to service avoidance procedures.
- Acknowledge and comply with dig permit procedures before breaking ground.
- Carry out daily pre-start plant safety inspections and maintenance checks.
- Complete routine greasing, cleaning, and basic machine maintenance.
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant working environment.
- Work closely with site management and groundworkers to meet programme requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
- CPCS A59 or NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Excavator 10 Tonnes and Above (Tracked).
- Proven experience operating 35T excavators on earthworks projects.
- GPS machine control experience (Trimble, Leica, Topcon or similar).
- Safety Critical Medical (site specific).
- Strong understanding of bulk excavation, grading, and earthworks operations.
- Experience working to levels and site drawings.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team.
- Right to work in the UK.
DESIRABLE
- CPCS / NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper.
- CPCS / NPORS Ride-On Roller.
- CPCS / NPORS Dozer Operator.
- CPCS / NPORS Telehandler.
- CPCS / NPORS Quick Hitch Attachment.
- Earthworks and large-scale infrastructure experience.
- 5+ years of excavator operating experience.
