Our client is looking for a Excel/Power Query Consultant to move merchandising data from Excel and BusinessObjects-based processes into Microsoft Fabric.

You will define the existing data, transform it using Power Query and work with Merchandising, IT and Data teams to validate the migration.

This role is focused on delivering accurate, usable data against a tight implementation deadline.

Responsibilities

  • Map the merchandising data currently held in Excel and accessed through BusinessObjects.
  • Work with merchandising users to define measures, calculations, dependencies and reporting requirements.
  • Extract, cleanse and transform data using Excel, Power Query and SQL.
  • Prepare data for migration into the Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Identify data-quality issues, inconsistent definitions and manual processes that could affect the migration.
  • Reconcile migrated data against existing reports, spreadsheets and agreed business rules.
  • Translate merchandising concepts, including margin and product performance measures, into clear data requirements.
  • Coordinate migration activity with IT and Data teams, resolving discrepancies before sign-off.
  • Document data sources, transformation logic, definitions and validation results.
  • Deliver agreed migration work within the client’s implementation timetable.
