Sourceability® Excess Buyer

Sourceability® is a global digital distributor of electronic components transforming how modern businesses bring products to market. With innovation, quality and logistics as the backbone of the company, Sourceability’s cutting-edge products and services expedite the procurement process across a wide range of industries, including communications/cellular, consumer electronics, and auto manufacturing.

We are looking for a dynamic Excess Buyer to become a vital part of our vibrant EMEA Purchasing Team, working remote or hybrid across Europe, with a preference for candidates based in the UK. Join the energy and come be part of the momentum!

About the Role

This is an amazing opportunity to get involved! As an Excess Buyer you will play a crucial role in growing our presence in the UK market. You'll negotiate with OEM and OCM suppliers on price, quantity, delivery schedules and exclusive deals, place and follow up purchase orders, and grow our supplier base by prospecting new OEMs and OCMs while managing existing relationships. We're open to candidates from junior to senior level, and we'll level the role to match your experience.

  • Procure electronic components in line with our supply chain strategy and company policies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, quantities, delivery schedules and exclusive deals.
  • Build and manage supplier relationships across the UK market.
  • Manage excess inventory lists, expand the supplier base, and work with sales to help OEMs and OCMs reduce their excess inventory.
  • Drive strategic sourcing based on part commodities and OEM/OCM applications.
  • Qualify new suppliers and keep supplier profiles and CRM records accurate.
  • Monitor supplier on-time delivery and ratings.
  • Join weekly calls with sales to share feedback and drive improvement.
  • Cover VRFQs and RFQs using internal and external tools, and keep VQs updated.
  • Place and follow up purchase orders, and resolve quality issues and discrepancies.
  • Work in Sourceability's ERP and supply chain systems.
  • Attend trade fairs, team meetings and company events, with occasional travel.

Your qualifications, your influence

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills:

  • Native-level fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of securing cost savings and building supplier relationships.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and global suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • University degree in any field.

Preferred skills and technical familiarity:

Adding additional insight, and a growth mindset, will elevate your contribution in this role

  • Experience in the electronic components industry or a procurement role. For senior candidates, 3 to 5 years in electronic components is ideal.
  • Understanding of the electronics supply chain, including component types, major suppliers and market dynamics.
  • Experience with any ERP system.
  • Additional European languages.
