WE’RE HIRING | EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT / BUSINESS SUPPORT
As Against The Odds continues to grow, I’m looking for an experienced and forward-thinking person to work closely alongside me and support the next stage of the business.
This role will begin part-time with the opportunity to progress into a full-time position for the right person.
Role Responsibilities
The role will involve supporting the day-to-day running and development of the business, including:
- Diary, meetings, bookings and travel management
- Managing emails and professional correspondence
- Invoicing, payment follow-ups and general administration
- Supporting my LinkedIn and professional presence
- Liaising with schools, local authorities, care providers and other organisations
- Keeping track of deadlines, actions and follow-ups
- Supporting business development and new opportunities
- Improving systems and helping the business operate efficiently

The Person We’re Looking For
You’ll be organised, reliable, and confident working independently.
More importantly, you’ll be proactive and forward-thinking. I need someone who doesn’t always need to be told what to do—someone who can identify what needs attention, take ownership, and help move things forward.
Experience within education, children’s services, youth work, charities, residential care, or a similar professional environment would be highly valuable, alongside previous PA, executive support, administration, or business support experience.
You’ll also need to understand the purpose behind Against The Odds and genuinely care about contributing to work that improves outcomes for young people.

Location & Working Arrangements
The role is predominantly remote and flexible, meaning you can manage your work from wherever suits you.
However, applicants should be based in Manchester or the surrounding area, as there will be occasions where we need to meet and work together face-to-face.
- Pay: £15–£18 per hour, depending on experience
- Hours: Part-time initially, with progression to full-time for the right person
- Location: Manchester / Hybrid-Remote
