Join Basketdrop Ltd as an Executive Assistant Apprentice and launch your career in business development. You will work closely with our leadership team. You will learn to manage high-level schedules, coordinate key projects, and master office operations while earning a formal qualification.
Wage
£14,560 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)
Salary will be reviewed every 6 months with structured increases based on training completion and performance milestones. If the apprentice is aged 19+ upon entering Year 2, pay is guaranteed to rise to the full statutory National Minimum Wage for their age band.

Training
Course: Administration assistant (level 2)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00 pm (includes one hour for lunch and dedicated off-the-job training time). Weekend work will be dependent on client deadline demands.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Managing executive diaries by scheduling internal and external meetings.
- Handling incoming communications, prioritising urgent emails, and screening phone calls.
- Preparing essential business documents, presentation decks, and meeting agendas.
- Recording accurate minutes during key leadership meetings and tracking action items.
- Coordinating travel arrangements, accommodation, and itineraries for senior staff.
- Welcoming high-profile visitors and acting as a professional point of contact.
- Assisting with the planning, setup, and logistics of corporate events.
- Supporting cross-departmental projects and researching background information for briefs.
Where you'll work
Hybrid Working & Office Flexibility: This role offers hybrid working arrangements, combining remote work. While the apprenticeship is open to applicants across England, the position involves close collaboration with our cross-border operations, including international travel links to China and the United States.
Travel Support: Assistance and expenses provided for required collaborative meet-ups.
Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

What you'll learn
- Receive, retrieve, process, record and store information and data.
- Operate within organisational policies, standards and procedures and relevant legislation respecting confidentiality; adapting to operational changes as they occur.
- Use software packages and tools for example AI or automation to input and process data and information, to contribute to routine administration tasks in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Handle and communicate information in line with organisational policies, procedures and security requirements.
- Recognise and rectify issues and escalate as required.
- Plan and review administration tasks allocated by supervisor.
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on the use of resources such as materials, equipment and supplies.
- Use agreed organisational systems and protocols to manage calendars, diaries and booking systems.
- Source information as requested by stakeholders, ensuring they are shareable.
- Use continuing professional development including self-reflection to support current and future training and development needs.
- Use communication tools to respond to stakeholders using professional language and organisational etiquette.
- Operate within agreed health and safety standards.
- Use time management tools to meet deadlines.
- Handle feedback following expected professional etiquette.
- Maintain wellbeing, accessing organisational support mechanisms if required.
- Review and check own work.
- Use cloud services to share documents for use and or collaboration.
- Protect against security threats for example, strong passwords, two step verification, office tailgating and display of security passes or clothing that identifies secure workplaces.
- Seek clarification and help, when required, to complete assigned tasks within agreed timeframes.

Training schedule
Training will be delivered primarily at Basketdrop Ltd, with no requirement to travel to a college campus. The training will be structured as blended learning, combining practical on-the-job experience with regular remote tutor support. Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard. Progress reviews will take place at the workplace every 6 to 8 weeks with your assigned CMS Vocational Training coach.

Training is provided by CMS Vocational Training Ltd, an established, Ofsted-rated "strong" national provider with over 40 years of experience. The training program is fully supported through a dedicated online portfolio system, interactive virtual learning sessions, and one-to-one mentor guidance. A dedicated CMS tutor will be assigned to guide you step-by-step through portfolio building, workplace assessments, and complete preparation for your End-Point Assessment (EPA).
