Job Title: Executive Assistant

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic High School – a vibrant and successful school committed to excellence in education and the holistic development of every student – is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the Senior Leadership Team and Governors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a comprehensive, confidential secretarial service to the Executive Headteacher, Head of School and Chair of Governors to maximise the effective use of their time, including diary management, mail handling, filing, conference/meeting arrangements, photocopying and word processing.
  • Preparing high-quality briefings, agendas, reports and presentations to support leadership meetings and strategic work, including using ICT.
  • Systematically following up actions and commitments detailed during meetings led or convened by the Executive Headteacher and Head of School.
  • Dealing with complex, confidential and sensitive queries and emotive issues face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing.
  • Leading communications, both internally and externally, using social media where required.
  • Line managing the Systems Coordinator to maintain electronic communication systems, including the website.
  • Deputising for the Clerk to the Governors, providing duties including taking minutes at meetings, typing agendas and ensuring all documentation is correct and distributed within the correct timescales.
  • Supporting the effective planning and implementation of key school events through proactive planning and a systematic approach.
  • Creating, monitoring and maintaining records, using both manual and computerised systems, to enable accurate information to be recorded and statistics to be collated.

Skills and Experience

  • GCSE English and Maths at or above the equivalent of grade 4 (C), as well as proven numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience providing a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or comparable role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding organisational skills.
  • High levels of discretion, integrity and professionalism.
  • The ability to self-motivate, use initiative and lead proactively.
  • Highly trustworthy and solutions-focused.
  • The ability to manage social media platforms, responding to live situations promptly and responding effectively.
  • An unceasingly optimistic approach and a sense of humour.
  • Experience working in an educational environment (desirable).
  • Experience of governance systems (desirable).

Salary: HBC 6, £32,061 – £34,434 (pay award pending).

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week.
