Powering Great Work

We started as the place to find a trusted trade. Now, as we shape the future of home improvement, we're building the tech to transform that landscape for everyone - better products, smarter data, AI where it actually helps - so trades can spend less time on admin and consumers can find someone they trust, first time. That's Powering Great Work, and it's why every team here exists:

  • Trades spend less time on admin and more on winning work and growing their business
  • Homeowners get a trusted trade, first time, every time
  • We get to build products that change homes and lives across the country

About the Role

As our next Executive Assistant to the CEO, you'll keep the day-to-day running smoothly so they can focus on the big calls. You'll own the diary, the priorities and the details in the between, with a seat close to the decisions shaping Checkatrade's next chapter. It's a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

The Job, Unfiltered

  • Own the CEO's diary end to end: prioritise what matters, protect focus time and make sure every meeting has a clear purpose and the right people in the room.
  • Coordinate board and leadership meetings: pull the papers together, chase actions and make sure nothing falls through the cracks between sessions.
  • Manage complex travel and itineraries, so the CEO turns up ready and without the faff.
  • Be the first point of contact for the CEO, handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and representing them well with senior stakeholders, investors and the exec team.
  • Keep the leadership team's rhythm on track by coordinating offsites, leadership meetings and the cross-team moments that keep everyone aligned.
  • Spot where things could run better and fix them. You'll have real ownership of how the CEO's office runs day to day.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
