Head of Finance
Salary: £55-65,000 per annum paid pro rata based on 3-4 days per week, depending on experience
Hours: Part-time, 3–4 days per week (22.5–30 hours)
Working pattern: Flexible working hours, with home and office working
Location: Finchley, N3 (nearest station Finchley Central) / Home Working
Reports to: Chief Executive
Direct reports: Senior Finance Officer
Key working relationships: Senior Management Team / Treasurer / Board of Trustees
Purpose of Role
The Head of Finance is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for providing strong financial leadership, insight and assurance across Rays of Sunshine.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Treasurer, Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team, the postholder will lead the charity’s finance function, ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, controls and governance.
This is a hands-on senior finance role within a lean and ambitious organisation. The successful candidate will combine strong technical financial expertise with the ability to translate financial information into clear, practical insight that supports effective decision-making and the charity’s future growth.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will play an important role in organisational planning and strategy, while line-managing and developing the Senior Finance Officer.
