Executive Associate, Global Practice
Working closely with the firm’s leadership on international client assignments and selected company projects.
Fully remote | Full-time
About the Role
Monday morning. The chair of a family company in Milan has read the shortlist over the weekend and wants to talk. A candidate in Singapore has gone quiet. The partner leading the assignment is somewhere over the Gulf.
Someone has noticed and brought the threads together. By the time the partner lands, the conversation is prepared and nothing important has been left unattended.
That someone is the Executive Associate we are appointing at Selion Global.
We advise boards, founders and chief executives on appointments and leadership decisions that carry lasting consequence. Our practice is anchored in Singapore and London, with partner offices extending our reach internationally.
The Position
You would work closely with the leadership of the firm and alongside the responsible partner on confidential client assignments. Much of the role is communication: between partner conversations, you are often the person clients and candidates hear from.
The work includes:
- Being a point of contact for clients and candidates through each assignment, keeping them informed and properly looked after
- Handling day-to-day exchanges on the firm’s behalf, judging what sits within your remit and what needs the partner’s attention
- Preparing the material behind each meeting and decision, from briefs and client updates to candidate reports and more
- Keeping each assignment moving, with commitments honoured and next steps clear
- Selected internal projects that bring you into the wider development of the practice

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What It Offers
For someone with strong foundations and an appetite to learn, this offers close exposure to international advisory work.
- A steep and constant learning curve. You would see from the inside how companies are led, and how the decisions about their leaders are really made.
- A people business in the truest sense. At this level of professional services the service is the product, and every assignment turns on how a chair, a founder or a candidate is looked after.
- Visibility from the start. You would be in regular contact with the firm’s clients and relationships, and your work would be seen by the people who make the decisions.
- Work with real consequence. What you prepare reaches boards and owners, and the way you handle a conversation shapes how the firm is remembered.
- Room to become increasingly accomplished. You would learn retained executive search, or deepen what you already know, alongside experienced partners, and your responsibilities would grow with it.
Who We Are Looking For
Your experience has been in a founder’s or principal’s office, client delivery in an advisory or professional services firm, retained executive search, executive education, or the finest end of hospitality, where anticipation, discretion and warmth under exacting expectations are part of the job.
- You have already shown that you can carry responsibility, work independently and follow things through.
- Communication is your strength. You have a feel for tone and for people, read a situation quickly and adjust to the person in front of you, whether on the phone, in a meeting or in writing. When an exchange becomes difficult, you remain courteous and precise and represent the firm with tact.
- Your English, spoken and written, is of a high order: clear, economical and at ease with senior people.
- You have meaningful international experience and are at ease with clients and colleagues across European and Asian business cultures. Discretion is second nature.
- You use AI and modern tools intelligently, learn new systems readily and apply your own judgement to the result.
- You are resourceful and creatively practical. In a partner-led practice, responsibilities do not always arrive neatly packaged; you notice what is missing, find a way through and see it to completion.
- Experience in retained executive search is useful rather than required. We are more interested in what you have made of your experience, how readily you learn and why this work appeals to you as a next step.
