This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of St Margaret's Hospice, partnering closely with the CEO, Executive Team and Board of Trustees. You'll have visibility across the organisation, contribute to strategic priorities and play a key part in ensuring our leadership and governance arrangements enable outstanding care for people across Somerset.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with senior leaders, trustees, colleagues and external stakeholders, helping ensure the smooth running of executive, corporate and governance activity across the hospice.

  • Salary: £33,500 per annum
  • Working pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some evening work
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Based at either Taunton or Yeovil, with occasional travel between sites or to other locations
  • Hybrid working: Option to work up to half the week from home

What can you expect to be doing?

This is a key role supporting the CEO, Executive Team and wider organisation through professional, proactive and strategically focused business support.

You will work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to anticipate priorities, coordinate activity across the organisation and maintain oversight of actions, commitments and governance requirements. Through effective planning, communication and follow-through, you will help support delivery of organisational priorities and strategic objectives.

You will also provide high-quality support to the Board and committees, including meeting coordination, agenda and paper preparation, minute taking, action tracking and governance record keeping.

You will:

  • Act as a trusted business partner to the CEO and Executive Team, helping coordinate priorities, commitments and organisational activity.
  • Provide high-level executive support, including diary management, briefings, correspondence and stakeholder liaison.
  • Support the effective operation of the Board and committees through governance coordination and administration.
  • Monitor actions, priorities and workstreams, helping ensure organisational objectives continue to progress.
  • Coordinate key meetings, events and engagement activities involving senior leaders, trustees and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across systems, processes and ways of working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
