We’re looking for an Executive Compensation Consultant
This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work in the office three days per week.
The Role: Executive Compensation Consultant
As a core member of the team, you’ll work with a diverse range of clients and industries, taking on roles as project manager to help diagnose client issues and develop executive remuneration solutions for Remuneration Committees and management. You will collaborate with our Reward team, which supports broader workforce reward strategies.
We will rely on you to:
- Manage project deliverables to prepare for Remuneration Committee or Executive Committee meetings.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and to build trusted advisor relationships.
- Draft and review reports and analysis.
- Support the design of solutions, including incentive plans, remuneration policy reviews, and strategies in the context of IPOs or M&A activity.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality work while managing project budgets.
- Attend and present at client meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to market development and thought leadership pieces, reinforcing Mercer’s position as a global HR consulting leader.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing the delivery, implementation, and continuous improvement of insurance programs to meet client needs.
- Contributing to identifying and defining strategies to respond to client needs and objectives.
- Supporting the management of a portfolio composed mainly of large, complex, and/or multinational clients.
- Providing support on technical insurance topics, staying updated on complex claims activities, and collaborating with internal teams to support client outcomes.
- Managing renewal, retention, and portfolio development strategies, while identifying opportunities to support client needs beyond traditional insurance products.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with key client stakeholders through regular communication and quality service.
- Organizing meetings with clients and insurance companies in collaboration with specialized brokers and client service teams.
- Staying updated on regulatory compliance obligations and tax issues, correctly applying the relevant regulatory and legislative requirements for the client and the country of reference.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Economics (Management, Business Administration, International Business, etc.), Law, Linguistics, or related disciplines.
- Languages: excellent knowledge of Italian and English.
- IT skills: good knowledge of the main IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
What We Offer:
- Personalized professional growth path: the program starts with a 6-month internship. At the end of the 6 months, based on the evaluation by the mentors, the internship can continue with an apprenticeship contract, with an initial annual gross salary of €28,000. The applicable collective bargaining agreement is Tertiary, Distribution and Services.
- Additional attractive benefits offered with the apprenticeship contract: insurance coverage, supplementary pension plan, optional health insurance, flexible benefits, optional share purchase plan. Further details will be shared during the selection process.
