VCCP Roar
VCCP Roar is a fully integrated PR and marketing agency, with deep specialisms in consumer, technology, corporate reputation and financial services. The agency brought together three specialist agencies with long heritage in their specialisms: Good Relations (consumer), Harvard (tech) and Teamspirit (financial services) into one fully integrated cross-sector business.
We are disruptors of influence, on a relentless mission to challenge the norm to stay ahead of how influence is earned - and created. We're a 150-person powerhouse and from synthetic audience tools and proprietary AI technology, to thumb-stopping creativity, we are obsessed with being at the forefront of what's next.
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious and highly organised Executive Director who is articulate, curious, proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment across a range of projects.
This role will act as a number two to our Founder, Tech PR - focusing on business-wide commercials, driving and new business and helping to drive excellence in performance at SLT level - including financial management.
Working alongside a wider Senior Leadership Team, the Executive Director will be the operational engine and strategic co-pilot of the Tech practice. While the Founder focuses outwardly on vision, Group connections, new business, and high-level growth, the Executive Director focuses inward and operationally to ensure the business delivers on its promises efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Business Operations & P&L Management: Oversees daily workflow, capacity planning, and agency profitability. Tracks utilisation rates, monitors client over-servicing, and ensures the Exec Directors are managing budgets effectively.
- Team Leadership & Culture: Manages Directors, drives talent retention, and fosters agency culture and professional development. Works closely with both the Founder, and other Exec Directors to balance high performance with cultural positivity.
- Client Retention & Strategy: Acts as a senior escalation point for key accounts, ensuring high service quality, and driving account organic growth.
- Client Growth: Partners with the Founder and Exec Directors on organic growth - supporting them and ensuring a steady biz dev pipeline is delivering.
- New business: Leads agency pitch teams to a very high standard, for larger opportunities is also comfortable working alongside the Founder. But is a clear and trusted alternative go-to for Group opportunities alongside Founder.
- Strategic decision making: Acts as second-in-command, stepping in for the Founder on strategic decision-making when needed - feels as accountable for Tech’s success as the Founder (i.e. a partner to Founder).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Traits for the Role
- Commercial driver for Tech and the wider business - understudy to Founder and accountable for hitting revenue targets. In doing this, is aware not only of their own accounts / revenue, but the performance of the wider business.
- Oversees pipeline and revenue inputs - ensuring Founder is aware of all movement but operationally, this role is responsible for financial management and ensuring Exec Directors perform well here.
- Proactively generating leads for the business from their personal network - within this, spots and pursues opportunities for wider Roar, not solely Tech.
- An experienced and skilled new business lead - able to operationally oversee pitch processes and achieve a strong win rate.
- Supports Founder in being a Tech lead within Roar - go-to for asks and needs from wider business and is able to guide teams/people with clarity.
- Supports key clients - accounts led by Directors/Associates but Exec Director will be present, engaged and helping to manage senior stakeholders and unlock organic growth.
- Has integrated experience ideally spanning PR, Marketing and Social (fine to have varying levels of experience across these but must have good understanding).
- Is a proactive driver, self-motivated and a “machine” in their approach - drives the same standard in teams.
- Has an incredible eye for detail - ensuring client work and pitches are top standard without major intervention from Founder (Founder should feed in, review, finesse and be the final approver of work rather than re-do it or need to correct it continually).
- Has the immediate gravitas needed to instil confidence when working on large opportunities / high-pressure settings - is comfortable in this and a trusted alternative to the Founder when needed.
- A responsible and accountable leader - focused more on commercial growth and new business than wanting to lead on existing client excellence for the agency, culture / people.
