Job Summary

Join our Clean Tech & Environment (CTE) M&A Advisory team in London as an Executive Director, where you will be responsible for driving the origination and execution of strategic advisory mandates across the Power, Utilities, and Infrastructure sector, alongside an existing team.

In a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will:

  • Lead on Digital Infrastructure sector (extending to core infrastructure, energy transition, transport, and environmental services, also in the scope of the CTE team)
  • Advise financial sponsors, infrastructure funds, utilities, developers, and strategic investors on M&A, capital raises, and strategic transactions in EMEA
  • Contribute directly to franchise growth, revenue generation and high-quality transaction delivery, while working closely with country, sector, and product partners across the Bank

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team and would suit candidates exhibiting a solid track record of business development, client relationship management, and M&A advisory deal pedigree across the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

Business

  • Originate M&A, strategic advisory, capital raising and joint venture opportunities across Digital Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, and broader Infrastructure sectors
  • Maintain senior client relationships with financial sponsors, infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, strategic corporates, developers, and operators
  • Prepare sector insights, pitch materials, and client dialogue to support business development and transaction origination
  • Lead client engagement from early-stage opportunity identification through mandate award and transaction completion

Processes

  • Lead end-to-end execution of M&A advisory mandates, including valuation, financial analysis, due diligence, process design, negotiations, and documentation
  • Ensure deal teams deliver high-quality materials, clear advice and timely execution against agreed client objective
  • Coordinate internal approvals, conflicts, compliance, legal, risk and other governance processes relevant to advisory mandate
  • Manage external advisers and coordinating multidisciplinary workstreams across jurisdictions

People & Talent

  • Lead and supervise deal teams made up of Directors, Assistant Directors and Associate
  • Coach junior team members and supporting their technical, execution, and client-facing development
  • Set high standards for judgement, integrity, collaboration, execution discipline, and client service

Skills And Experience

  • Significant investment banking, corporate finance or strategic advisory experience, with a strong track record in Digital Infrastructure M&A or broader Infrastructure M&A
  • Ability and track record in the origination and execution of complex cross-border transaction
  • Strong senior client relationship skills and proven ability to build trust with boards, shareholders and senior executives
  • Deep understanding of European infrastructure markets, including investors, strategic players, valuation dynamics and transaction precedents
  • Strong financial analysis, valuation, negotiation, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to lead teams, manage multiple mandates and operate effectively in a fast-paced advisory environment
