The Opportunity
As a senior legal leader within the London Legal team, you will provide proactive, commercial legal advice on a global scale, ensuring effective solutions within acceptable levels of risk.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a high-performing team across London and Hong Kong, your role will include:
- Providing senior legal support for the EMEA and APAC fund ranges, including UK Investment Trusts, AIFs, and UCITS in the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Australia
- Drafting, coordinating, and managing fund prospectuses and regulatory documentation for complex fund structures
- Working closely with Investments, Distribution, Compliance, and Product teams to support regulatory matters and implementation
- Acting as a key legal advisor on new product structuring and development across jurisdictions
Core Responsibilities
Examples of key tasks may include:
- Providing day-to-day legal support to product teams, ensuring regulatory compliance and aligning with chief investment officer (CIO) strategies
- Leading the drafting, coordination, and upkeep of fund prospectuses and related documentation, ensuring they remain current with regulatory changes and business developments
- Implementing firm-wide literature principles, plain language guidelines, and industry best practices
- Supporting global fund development across Luxembourg, Ireland, Australia (FMA) and handling regulatory submissions and approvals
- Managing interactions with regulators for prospectus changes, regulatory projects, and regulatory change initiatives
- Monitoring and implementing regulatory updates, assessing impact with Regulatory Development and Business Change teams, and ensuring compliance
- Drafting and coordinating regulatory correspondence related to fund documentation updates
- Ensuring local prospectus supplements are prepared and translated as required
- Overseeing governance and approvals of fund documentation changes, including Management Company and Fund Board interactions
- Assisting with internal governance queries, including committee structures and regulatory frameworks, to aid Fund/Management Company Boards in discharging duties
- Acting as the primary legal advisor to Irish and Luxembourg (Lux) Management Company (ManCo) and Fund Boards
- Providing strategic legal support to investments teams across all asset classes, including derivatives trading, private placements, and alternative investments
- Advising distribution and sales teams, including inter-institutional and intermediary arrangements
- Reviewing, advising, and negotiating Inter-Manager Agreements (IMAs), intermediary, platform, and distribution agreements
- Managing a multi-disciplinary team of lawyers and legal assistants covering regulated funds, derivatives, private placements, SMAs, and alternative investment structures
- Leading workload management, team development, and resource priorities within the London Legal team
- Serving as a senior escalation point for complex legal issues

Requirements

Nice-to-Have Skills & Background
- 12+ years of practice-level experience (PQE preferred)
- Prior experience in in-house legal roles or within financial services
- Law degree (Qplicitable or other professional qualifications preferred)
Leadership & Development
- This role involves supervising a team of lawyers/legal assistants
- Potential for further career development through mentorship, leadership training, and career progression initiatives
Bonus Opportunity (Eligibility Subject to Performance)
