About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive Director of Public Impact to join our client. Our client supports housing organisations across the country.
After years of campaigning, the government's recent Spending Review delivered a transformational package of funding for social housing. It will enable our client to deliver the biggest social housebuilding programme since the post-war period and to better protect existing social homes. It couldn’t be a more exciting time to join their organisation.
Over the coming years, they’ll be a key partner in helping the government achieve its housebuilding targets, delivering long-term benefits to residents and communities.
They also have exciting plans to boost the public’s understanding of the sector and ensure that housing associations are seen as an employer of choice.
This is a chance for someone with significant leadership experience and a real interest in social housing, public affairs and policy to join our client and help make those ambitions a reality. You will find great colleagues and a brilliant team, and you will get the opportunity to work on some of the toughest (and most interesting) social, economic and policy issues in the country.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
