Head Chef. Create the Concept. Shape the Next Chapter.

A New Chapter in Food & Beverage

Some Head Chef roles are about taking over an established kitchen. This one is about helping shape what comes next.

We’re partnering with a leading international hotel brand on the appointment of a Head Chef for a prominent Liverpool city-centre hotel entering an exciting period of investment and change.

The hotel is undergoing a transformation, its restaurant and food offering are being reconceptualised.

This creates an opportunity for a Head Chef who wants more than simply running the day-to-day kitchen operation.

They’re looking for someone who wants to influence the concept, develop the food identity and play a genuine role in creating the next chapter of the hotel’s F&B offering.

The Opportunity

This is a role for a chef who combines creativity with commercial thinking.

Someone who understands that a successful restaurant needs great food, but also a clear identity, consistency, strong margins and an experience that gives guests a reason to return.

Working closely with the hotel leadership team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Help shape and develop the new restaurant concept and food direction
  • Create menus that balance creativity, quality and commercial performance
  • Build a distinctive food identity aligned with the hotel’s next chapter
  • Lead, engage and develop the kitchen brigade
  • Embed strong standards, consistency and operational discipline
  • Take ownership of food cost, labour, margins and kitchen performance
  • Work collaboratively across the wider F&B and hotel operation
  • Play an active role in the refurbishment and relaunch of the food offering

About You

You could already be an established Head Chef, or you may be a strong senior chef ready for greater ownership and the opportunity to put your stamp on an operation.

What matters is your ability to bring together food, people and commercial performance.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience within a quality hotel, restaurant or similarly complex hospitality environment
  • A strong creative approach to menu and concept development
  • Commercial understanding, including food cost, GP, labour and profitability
  • A track record of developing and retaining kitchen teams
  • High standards without losing sight of pace, consistency or commercial reality
  • The confidence to contribute ideas and work collaboratively with senior leadership
  • Genuine excitement about creating and evolving something rather than simply maintaining what already exists

The Package

Salary up to £55,000-£58,000 + 10% bonus

Alongside the salary and bonus, you’ll have access to a wider benefits package associated with being part of an international hotel group.

Why This Role?

The attraction here is the timing.

You’re joining at a point where investment is being made, the restaurant is being reimagined and there is an opportunity to influence the direction rather than inherit a finished product.

For the right chef, it’s a chance to create something they can genuinely put their name to, while having the infrastructure and opportunities that come with being part of an established international hospitality group.
