Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and highly standards-focused Executive Housekeeper to join the pre-opening team at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a Luxury Housekeeping operation by establishing exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and service within one of the UK’s newest luxury destinations.
As a key member of the hotel’s management team, you will be responsible for leading the Housekeeping operation across guest rooms, suites and public areas, ensuring every space reflects the exceptional quality and attention to detail expected of a luxury Fairmont Resort.
You will play an important role in recruiting, developing and inspiring a high-performing Housekeeping team, embedding strong operational procedures and creating a culture of pride, ownership and consistency. Working closely with Front Office, Facilities, Spa & Wellness, Concierge and other operational departments, you will ensure the hotel is beautifully presented and fully prepared to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Some Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping department, ensuring consistently exceptional standards across guest rooms, suites and public areas aligned with LQA standards.
- Recruit, train, coach and develop the Housekeeping team, creating a positive and high-performing culture.
- Reinforce, develop and maintain departmental standards, procedures, cleaning schedules and quality-control processes.
- Conduct regular room and public-area inspections to ensure compliance with Fairmont, LQA and luxury service standards.
- Work closely with Front Office to manage room readiness, arrivals, departures, VIP requirements and special guest requests.
- Coordinate effectively with our Facilities team to ensure maintenance issues are identified, reported and resolved promptly.
- Manage linen, uniforms, guest supplies, cleaning products and departmental inventories to maintain appropriate stock levels and cost control.
- Monitor productivity, staffing levels and departmental scheduling in line with occupancy and operational requirements.
- Ensure all health, safety, COSHH and hygiene requirements are consistently followed.
- Manage departmental budgets, payroll and operating expenses while maintaining the required luxury standards.
- Champion sustainability initiatives and responsible use of resources within the department.
- Build strong relationships across the hotel and promote effective communication between Housekeeping and other departments.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, attention to detail and genuine care for both guests and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a senior Housekeeping leadership position, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of luxury/LQA housekeeping standards, room presentation and quality assurance.
- Proven experience leading, motivating and developing large operational teams.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to cleanliness, presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing operational priorities.
- Experience managing departmental budgets, payroll, inventories and productivity.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety, COSHH and safe working practices within Housekeeping.
- A flexible and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience within a Luxury and Lifestyle brand would be advantageous.
