Job Overview
Plan A Technologies is seeking an Executive in Residence (EiR) for our Financial Services practice. This is a high-impact, six-month residency designed for an experienced SVP, EVP, Managing Director, or C-suite leader who has spent their career at the intersection of finance and technology.
This role is roughly a 10-20 hour per week commitment. There are two components to the role: first, you’ll be providing high-stakes technology advice to existing clients and potential clients, and second, you’ll set up introductions to companies like banks, hedge funds, wealth management firms, FinTechs, PE firms, insurance providers, and payment processors.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a senior advisor to help clients solve critical technology challenges, from legacy modernization and core banking transitions to AI adoption and complex regulatory compliance.
- Sales & Business Development: Leverage your deep industry network to identify and set up new strategic partnerships and alliances for Plan A. This is a critical component of the role – if you’re not comfortable with this part, please do not apply.
- Strategic Growth: Advise the Plan A leadership team on market trends in the financial sector to help shape our service offerings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
