Summary

This is a 3-month contract opportunity with a local authority, offering a rate of £29.50 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The role involves leading the Executive Liaison Support Team within the Legal and Democracy Support Service. The primary objective is to ensure the provision of top-tier administrative, clerical, and executive support to senior elected officials and key stakeholders, such as the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Leader of the Council, and Executive Liaison Officers. The successful candidate will manage team resources, prioritize tasks, offer specialized advice, and ensure the smooth operation of support services that facilitate effective governance, democratic processes, and executive decision-making within the Council.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the delivery of superior administrative and clerical support to Executive Liaison Officers and senior elected officials.
  • Guarantee effective support for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Leader of the Council, and other senior stakeholders as needed.
  • Serve as a specialist contact, offering expert advice and guidance on executive support services and governance processes.
  • Stay informed about local government functions, democratic services, governance structures, and Council procedures to provide knowledgeable support.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in delivering high-level administrative and executive support within a complex organization.
  • Proven experience in supervising or leading administrative support teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resources, and workloads in a dynamic environment.
  • Educated to A-Level standard or possess equivalent experience.
  • Strong grasp of administrative and business support functions.
  • Knowledge of governance, confidentiality, and information management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Additional Information

  • Working hours are 36.25 hours per week.
  • The role requires onsite presence for at least 3 days per week.
  • A standard Disclosure and Barring Certificate is necessary for this position.
  • Payments are processed on a bi-weekly schedule.
