About AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. At AstraZeneca, we are pioneering new frontiers by identifying and treating patients earlier, working towards the aim of eliminating cancer as a cause of death.

About the Role

Are you ready to shape executive reward strategies that fuel performance and help deliver life-changing medicines to patients? In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of Total Reward for our most senior leaders, ensuring a sharp link between outcomes, accountability, and long-term value creation. Your work will influence critical decisions at the highest levels and power our ability to attract, motivate, and retain exceptional talent.

You will join a fast-moving, agile team that partners closely with Finance and the Company Secretary to align performance and pay, and that supports the Remuneration Committee with clear, data-backed recommendations. Imagine yourself translating complex analytics into compelling insights leaders act on, how would you make bold ideas simple, robust, and actionable?

Accountabilities

  • Reward Strategy and Design: Evolve executive compensation philosophy and programs across base pay, annual bonus, and long-term incentives to reinforce our performance culture, talent needs, and business strategy.
  • Remuneration Committee Partnership: Prepare high-quality materials and scenario-based recommendations that inform decisions, strengthen governance, and tell a clear story of pay for performance.
  • Incentive Plan Governance: Oversee the end-to-end governance and operations of short- and long-term incentives, including rules, performance metrics, calibration, grant sizing, vesting outcomes, and malus/clawback processes—ensuring accuracy, control, and fairness.
  • Market Intelligence and Analytics: Lead market scans, peer group analyses, job evaluation, pay range management, and advanced modeling to maintain competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, Talent, Finance, Legal, and external advisors; influence outcomes with objective insight and crisp communication.
  • Adviser and Vendor Management: Manage external consultants and providers to secure rigorous advice, value for money, and timely delivery.
  • Digital and AI-Enabled Insights: Employ AI-enabled and digital tools to elevate analytics, visualize scenarios, and communicate insights securely and responsibly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
