Key Responsibilities
We're not looking for someone to slot into a desk that already exists. We're looking for the person who builds it - scrappy, bold and genuinely 360, someone who'd rather create something than inherit it. Bring your network, your instincts and your energy; the brand, the infrastructure and the referral engine are already here to back you.
This is a full 360 role for someone who's done it before and wants to do it properly - winning your own clients, running senior legal search, both in-house and industry, end to end, and building a desk that's genuinely yours. You'll be one of the first specialist hires into iX, with the backing to focus on selling and delivering, not fighting fires.
We work targeted, not scattergun: mid-market and scaling businesses (roughly 500–5,000 headcount) who need senior legal hires done properly, approached with real personalisation rather than CRM templates. We are genuinely industry leading with tools and tech – with constant support, collaborative effort and training.

What You'll Own
- Run a genuine 360 desk - new business, client management, search execution and candidate delivery, start to finish
- Bring your own network to the table and convert it into your first retained mandates
- Build new client relationships - target, approach, pitch and win businesses that aren't warm yet
- Own senior legal search and generate RPO leads across in-house and private practice
- Work the cross-referral engine both ways - surfacing legal opportunity inside Instant Impact's client base, and opening doors back the other way
- Shape how the legal desk is built - process, positioning, tooling - rather than inherit someone else's playbook
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Genuine 360 experience - you've run the full desk (BD through to delivery) in legal recruitment, not just one side of it
- A network with substance - genuine relationships in the market you can call on and grow, not just a rolodex of contacts
- Start-up mileage - you've worked somewhere lean before and know the difference between infrastructure that helps and infrastructure that gets in the way
- A hunter's instinct - genuinely comfortable opening new relationships and winning clients who don't already know us
- Flexibility - happy to adapt as the desk and the business evolve, rather than needing a fixed lane
- Tech-forward by default - comfortable working in a CRM, a wiki, and AI-assisted tools day to day, and keen to use them to work smarter, not just harder
- Commercial grit - you want to be measured on revenue and results, and you're motivated by building something with your name on it
