Executive Search Partner (Internal)

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £60,000-£70,000
Hybrid (3 days on site)

Distinct Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading, complex organisation with the appointment of an Executive Search Partner into its senior Talent Acquisition function.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced executive search professional who enjoys working closely with senior leaders and taking ownership of complex, high-value searches from start to finish.

The Opportunity

This is not a volume recruitment role. You will manage a portfolio of senior and executive searches, typically involving difficult-to-find talent, requiring thoughtful market mapping, direct sourcing, headhunting and proactive engagement with passive candidates, managing a portfolio of c10-15 roles.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to understand the business challenge behind each appointment, shape the role where required and develop a bespoke search strategy. You'll have the autonomy to challenge, advise and influence rather than simply take a brief and deliver against it.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with Executive and senior leaders to define and deliver leadership hiring strategies.
  • Own searches end-to-end, from briefing and role design through to market mapping, sourcing, assessment and appointment.
  • Build detailed talent maps and competitor intelligence to identify hard-to-reach candidates.
  • Develop creative, direct sourcing strategies to engage exceptional and diverse talent.
  • Build trusted relationships with passive candidates and senior stakeholders.
  • Provide market insight and challenge hiring decisions where appropriate.
  • Manage multiple complex searches simultaneously, maintaining pace, quality and confidentiality.
  • Ensure a high-touch, exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience.
  • Use recruitment data and market intelligence to continually improve search strategies.
  • Champion inclusive hiring and build diverse leadership pipelines.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the organisation's executive recruitment proposition, processes and approach.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
