Executive Support Coordinator
Are you a highly skilled Executive Support Coordinator looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference every day?
We are seeking an Executive Support Coordinator to provide high quality executive, administrative and corporate support to the Director of Income Generation and Engagement. The Director’s remit includes our award-winning fundraising and communication teams. This department moves at pace and requires an individual who is skilled in balancing competing demands whilst providing a high quality and comprehensive administrative service in a busy and challenging environment. You will be supporting a Director who is visually impaired and will therefore need to provide tailored support to enable full access to their work, including helping to navigate systems that are otherwise inaccessible and providing support on occasions at events.
Please note that the Director is normally supported by a guide dog. We anticipate that a guide dog may become part of the working environment during the course of this maternity cover, so candidates should be comfortable working alongside a working dog.
You will join a high performing Executive Support team, where you will work alongside highly experienced and supportive peers and management providing executive support to the Senior Leadership Team.
This role will ideally be based in our Head Office in Edinburgh, although we would consider another central CHAS site as a base. The team works on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days onsite each week. You should also expect travel to other CHAS sites as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have skill and experience in the following areas:
- Comprehensive experience in a similar role, such as Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or Administrator, including strong MS Office skills
- The ability to operate flexibly and professionally in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organisation, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to prioritise your own and others’ time and workload in order to manage the extensive demands associated with daily diary commitments
- Great attention to detail and exemplary organisational, creative problem solving and decision-making skills
- With excellent communication skills, you will be a team player with a positive, welcoming and can-do attitude
- Experience of providing meeting support
- Previous experience in the charity or healthcare sectors would be an advantage, as would experience of working with volunteers

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
