About the role
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Exhibition Site Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of exhibitions and gallery projects within museums, galleries and cultural institutions.
You will take responsibility for the practical delivery and on-site fabrication of exhibition builds, from initial site preparation through to completion. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of projects on-site, maintaining the company’s high standards of quality and sustainability while demonstrating a proactive, positive and collaborative approach.
This is a hands-on role requiring organisation, logistical planning, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate site teams, contractors and suppliers within museum and gallery environments.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage exhibition construction and gallery refurbishment works from site preparation through to completion, ensuring all build and finishing works are completed to a high standard, on-time and on-budget
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and the wider Site Management team to book crew, streamline logistics, resources and site operations across concurrent projects
- Monitor the quality, progress and finish of onsite works against agreed plans and deadlines
- Implement and maintain safe working practices on-site, ensuring crew and contractors always adhere to health & safety regulations and SFA site protocol
- Complete project CPP / RAMS / COSHH assessments
- Manage site crew, subcontractors and specialist suppliers working on-site, delivering RAMS briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions
- Procure materials for site at competitive rates, ensuring accurate quantities are ordered in line with company sustainability values
- Coordinate tools, equipment, plant hire and waste requirements for site
- Manage, maintain and replenish site consumables and equipment in close coordination with other Site Managers and Workshop Manager
- Carry out regular site inspections to improve site operations and identify potential issues before they affect programme or budget
- Always maintain a professional and positive relationship with clients

Essential requirements
- 2 years + experience in site management, exhibition construction or construction, ideally within museums, galleries, cultural venues or similar environments
- Good knowledge and understanding of various construction and finishing methods
- Highly organised, reliable and punctual, with good timekeeping and the ability to meet deadlines
- Professional, confident and clear communicator with a proactive attitude to inspire the site team and drive projects forward
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends, where required by project programmes
- A clean full UK driving license with 3 year + driving experience
Desirable / beneficial requirements
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
- First Aid training
- IPAF / PASMA / forklift certificate
- Experience driving vans
- Experience of managing health and safety on site
- Ability to interpret exhibition drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
- Experience delivering exhibitions within listed, historic or architecturally sensitive buildings
- Experience coordinating specialist trades such as electricians, AV technicians and graphics installation
