Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Expeditors to join the Scheduling team in Gloucester.
Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, the Expeditor will act as the operational owner of critical parts and recovery-plan orders once they have been released into production. The role is focused on maintaining manufacturing flow, accelerating throughput, and ensuring critical delivery commitments and recovery plans are achieved.
Working closely with Production, Scheduling, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other key functions, the Expeditor will proactively track priority parts through every stage of the manufacturing process, identify potential delays, and drive rapid resolution of constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day operational ownership of critical parts and recovery-plan orders following production release.
- Proactively track and expedite priority components through each stage of the manufacturing process.
- Ensure strict adherence to agreed production schedules, recovery plans, and delivery commitments.
- Identify waiting time, bottlenecks, shortages, and other constraints that could impact manufacturing flow.
- Coordinate priorities across Production, Scheduling, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other relevant teams.
- Drive actions to remove blockers and minimize delays to critical parts.
- Maintain close visibility of the current status and location of priority components throughout production.
- Escalate risks and issues promptly where delivery or recovery-plan commitments are at risk.
- Facilitate rapid cross-functional decision-making and problem resolution.
- Monitor progress against agreed milestones and ensure actions are followed through to completion.
- Provide clear and accurate status updates to the Scheduling Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Support initiatives to improve manufacturing flow, reduce lead times, and increase on-time delivery performance.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience within manufacturing, production, scheduling, planning, expediting, or supply chain operations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment; aerospace experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow, and manufacturing priorities.
- Proven ability to track multiple critical orders or components simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Confidence working across multiple departments and challenging stakeholders where necessary to maintain delivery commitments.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to analyze production status, identify risks, and escalate issues appropriately.

The successful Expeditor will be highly visible within the operation, building strong relationships across functions and ensuring that critical components do not remain unnecessarily stationary at any stage of production.
