Expeditor – Equipment Manufacturing £30,000–£45,000 Walsall
Are you an experienced Expeditor, Buyer, Project Engineer or Supply Chain Coordinator with a background in manufacturing or engineering? Do you enjoy working with suppliers, chasing orders and ensuring materials and components are delivered on time? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global engineering manufacturer supplying bespoke engineered components to customers across the Oil & Gas, Energy and industrial manufacturing sectors.
The Role
As an Expeditor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring materials, components and services are delivered on time to support manufacturing and customer delivery schedules.
Working closely with suppliers, purchasing, engineering, production and project teams, you’ll track orders, manage delivery dates, resolve delays and ensure potential issues are identified and addressed before they impact production.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and expedite purchase orders from placement through to delivery
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm production progress and delivery schedules
- Proactively chase outstanding orders and resolve delays
- Work closely with purchasing, engineering, production and project teams
- Track supplier performance and provide regular progress updates
- Identify potential supply issues and escalate where required
- Review documentation and ensure orders meet required specifications
- Support the smooth flow of materials and components through manufacturing
About You
- Experience in Expediting, Projects, Purchasing, Procurement
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong supplier communication and relationship-management skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing multiple orders, priorities and deadlines
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings or technical specifications is advantageous
- Proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and chase suppliers when required
