Experience and relationships that create value - Meet Synnøve Ulla

With more than 25 years in the Mørenot Group, Synnøve Ulla has been part of much of the development that has shaped the company into what it is today. Her journey began in 1998, and since then her role has evolved alongside both the company and the industry. Over the years, Synnøve has worked with everything from sales and purchasing to logistics and marketing. This has given her broad experience and a solid understanding of products, customers and the organization.

“When you have worked here this long, you become a bit of an all-rounder. The variety of tasks is something I really appreciate.”

Although her entry into the industry was somewhat coincidental, her connection to the sea has always been there.

“I grew up close to the ocean and started setting longlines and pots at a young age. I have always enjoyed both life at sea and in the mountains.”

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Today, much of her daily work consists of following up customers and suppliers, a role where relationships and trust are essential.

Relationships and service as a driving force

What gives her the most job satisfaction is the people she works with.

“The contact with customers and suppliers, and the collaboration with great colleagues, means a lot. It is also always nice to visit vessels, have a conversation and get to know people.”

Synnøve Also Highlights The Importance Of Good Service

“When the service we provide is appreciated, it is always easy to go the extra mile.”

A strong working environment

The working environment at Mørenot Fishery is described as inclusive, with good arenas for collaboration. Following the expansion in Gangstøvika, more employees in Ålesund now share a common meeting place, and the new canteen has become a natural gathering point.

“Conversations flow easily regardless of where you work in the organization. Teams has also made it easier to stay in touch with colleagues at other locations. It is a good way to maintain collaboration without major costs.”

Proud moments throughout her career

Over a long career, there have been many highlights. Among the most memorable experiences, Synnøve highlights the opening of Mørenot’s factory in Dalian.

“It was a great experience to take part in the opening of such a modern facility.”

Other milestones include work related to the ERP system for the Catch system, as well as the relocation of the Catch system from Iceland to Søvika, where she has been involved in establishing and following up both the warehouse and workshop.

Customer Events Have Also Left Lasting Impressions

“It is especially rewarding when customers still remember events we organized years later. The Nor-Fishing event at Kvilhaugen Farm in particular has given me many great memories.”

Looking ahead

Looking ahead to the coming year, there are both hopes and expectations.

“I hope we can return to a more normal everyday situation and continue the good cooperation with customers and suppliers. The unrest in the world creates major challenges.”

Nor-Fishing is also an event she looks forward to, together with continuing to build the strong working environment at Mørenot Fishery. With extensive experience, strong professional knowledge and great dedication to both customers and colleagues, Synnøve is a strong example of the people who make up Mørenot Fishery and who contribute every day to developing the company further.
