Role Description
The Experienced 360 Excavator Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Caithness. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Operating 360 excavators for digging, grading, and moving materials on domestic and commercial sites, while following site plans and safety procedures.
- Supporting concrete finishing work.
- Assisting with groundworks such as trenching, foundations, drainage, and site leveling.
- Carrying out gorse and whin removal and other vegetation clearance tasks.
- Inspecting and maintaining equipment.
- Reporting any issues promptly.
- Coordinating with site supervisors and colleagues to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.

Qualifications
- Proven experience operating 360 excavators in construction, groundworks, or related environments.
- Practical skills in concrete finishing and domestic/commercial groundworks (e.g., foundations, drainage, site preparation).
- Ability to carry out vegetation and land clearance tasks, including gorse and whin removal, using appropriate methods and equipment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices, including safe plant operation, PPE use, and adherence to site rules.
- Valid operator or plant machinery certifications/licenses relevant to 360 excavators.
- Ability to read and follow basic site plans and instructions, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with supervisors, trades, and other team members.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform manual tasks as required.
- Full, clean driving license and reliable transport to reach different sites is highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in civil engineering, construction, or landscaping sectors is an advantage.
