Role Description

The Experienced Groundworker role is a full-time, on-site position based in Redcar. Day-to-day duties include:

The role involves operating relevant plant and equipment, ensuring safe working practices, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Groundworker collaborates with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to complete projects to specification, on time, and in line with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a groundworker or in a similar site-based role, including excavation, drainage, and concreting.
  • Practical skills in using hand tools and operating small plant and machinery (e.g., compactors, breakers, mini excavators).
  • Strong understanding of site safety practices, risk assessments, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic site drawings and follow instructions from site managers and engineers.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual labour in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a reliable and professional approach to site work.
  • CPCS/NPORS or equivalent plant operator certification, and a valid CSCS card are highly beneficial.
  • Full UK driving license preferred, with flexibility to work on different sites as required.
