Experienced IAAS Level 2 Immigration Caseworker

Location: Luton / Hybrid / 100% Remote

Job Type: Full-time

Solomon Solicitors is an established Legal Aid practice with a strong reputation in Immigration and Asylum law. We are a Lexcel-accredited firm and one of the leading providers of Legal Aid immigration services in Luton.

Due to the continued growth of our Immigration Department, we are looking to recruit an experienced IAAS Level 2 Immigration Caseworker to join our busy and established team.

This position can be based at our Luton office, worked on a hybrid basis, or be 100% remote for the right candidate.

The Role

You will join our specialist Immigration Department, which handles a high volume of Legal Aid asylum and immigration matters, alongside private immigration work.

We are looking for an experienced caseworker who is confident managing their own caseload and dealing with complex immigration and asylum matters with appropriate supervision and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of immigration and asylum matters
  • Taking instructions and advising clients
  • Preparing and progressing Legal Aid immigration and asylum cases
  • Preparing applications, representations, witness statements and supporting evidence
  • Handling asylum claims, fresh claims and appeals
  • Liaising with the Home Office, courts, counsel and other relevant organisations
  • Managing correspondence and case progression
  • Ensuring files comply with Legal Aid Agency, Lexcel and internal requirements
  • Maintaining accurate attendance notes, time recording and billing records
  • Working effectively with supervisors and other members of the Immigration Department

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
