Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Plant Electrician with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in the field. Our company specialises in the installation, upgrading, and heavy maintenance of industrial plant facilities, heavy machinery, and automated manufacturing environments. This role requires an autonomous electrician to fit into our site team who can hit the ground running, diagnose faults independently, and safely manage industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Industrial Installations: Install, modify, and commission heavy-duty systems including three-phase power distribution, switchgear, control panels, trunking, and steel wire armoured (SWA) cabling.
- Plant Maintenance & Diagnostics: Perform proactive maintenance and rapid fault-finding on production lines, conveyors, pumps, and automated plant machinery.
- Controls & Automation: Troubleshoot control circuits, relays, and interface systems (experience with PLC systems is highly advantageous).
- Testing & Compliance: Conduct initial verification and periodic inspections on heavy industrial installations to guarantee strict compliance with BS 7671.
- High-Risk Safety: Execute rigorous safety protocols, including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, permits to work, and working in high-hazard live plant environments.

- Field Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of proven experience working independently in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments.
- Core Certification: Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation (or equivalent industrial/maintenance pathway).
- Practical Assessment: AM2 Achievement Measurement 2 certificate.
- Wiring Regulations: 18th Edition BS 7671 certification.
- Driving Status: Full UK Driving Licence.
- Industry Cards (Desirable): Valid ECS Gold Card is highly preferred, though not strictly essential to apply.
