Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Uttoxeter for an Experienced New Build Housing Fencer and Soft Landscaper. The role involves installing a wide range of fencing systems on new build housing developments, including setting posts, fitting panels, gates, and related fixtures to specification. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and maintaining soft landscaping areas, such as turfing, planting, mulching, and general border preparation, ensuring high-quality finishes and site presentation. The position requires reading and following site plans, coordinating with site managers and other contractors, and working safely within active construction environments. The successful candidate will be expected to manage materials, use relevant tools and machinery, adhere to health and safety procedures, and complete work within agreed timeframes and budgets.

- Strong practical skills and experience in fencing installation for new build housing, including setting posts, erecting panels, and fitting gates.
- Demonstrated ability in soft landscaping tasks such as turfing, planting, soil preparation, and general garden/grounds finishing.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and landscaping equipment, with a focus on safe, efficient, and high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and follow site plans, work to specification, and coordinate with supervisors, site managers, and other contractors.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices on construction sites; relevant tickets or certifications (e.g., CSCS card) are advantageous.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining standards.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to Uttoxeter and surrounding sites is beneficial.
- Previous experience in commercial landscaping or new build housing projects is strongly preferred.
