The Stoneygate Eye Hospital is growing!

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Ophthalmic Technician to join our friendly clinical team.

📍 Leicester & Nottingham

🕐 40 hours per week | Monday–Saturday

💼 Permanent, full-time

💷 Competitive salary, dependent on experience and qualifications

What will you be doing?

You’ll work alongside our experienced ophthalmologists, optometrists and wider clinical team, helping us deliver outstanding, patient-centred eye care.

The role includes:

  • Carrying out ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, tonometry and keratometry
  • Taking patient histories and preparing patients for examinations and procedures
  • Supporting ophthalmologists and optometrists during examinations and minor procedures
  • Administering eye drops and medication as directed
  • Supporting contact lens fittings and providing patient guidance
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Providing occasional Theatre Runner support when required
  • Most importantly, providing a professional, compassionate and reassuring experience for our patients

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous UK experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, Ophthalmic Assistant or similar
  • Strong experience in ophthalmic diagnostic testing
  • Experience using OCT, visual field analysers, tonometers and keratometers
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A professional and compassionate approach to patient care
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to work across Leicester and Nottingham

A relevant Ophthalmic Technician qualification would be advantageous, but strong relevant experience is also considered.
