Experienced Optical Assistant Vacancy - Eye Academy Windsor

At Eye Academy Windsor, we’re not your average high street optician. Located in King Edward Court, our boutique practice pairs hospital-grade clinical excellence (including advanced Optomap retina technology and specialist clinics) with curated luxury and designer frames from around the globe.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Full-Time Experienced Optical Assistant who takes pride in creating a warm, relaxed, and memorable experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Experienced Optical Assistant to join us in delivering outstanding patient care. You’ll play a key role in providing expert advice, sharing knowledge on frames and fittings, and delivering ongoing care that makes patients feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.

Collaboration is a big part of how we work, so you’ll play a key role in making sure every patient has a smooth, positive experience from start to finish.

As an Optical Assistant, you’ll support patients with everything from frame styling and lens choices to fittings, adjustments, and aftercare. You’ll offer product knowledge that’s tailored to each person’s visual and lifestyle needs, and help manage more complex prescriptions with the support of the wider team. You’ll also assist with day-to-day practice tasks, contribute to the upkeep of displays and equipment, and be a friendly, reliable point of contact for both patients and colleagues. Above all, you’ll bring a genuine interest in people, an eye for detail, and a caring, can-do attitude to every part of your day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Warmly Welcoming Patients: Be the friendly face of Eye Academy, delivering a boutique, attentive service from initial greeting to post-appointment styling.
  • Pre-Screening & Clinical Support: Conducting pre-testing using modern diagnostic technology (such as Optomap scans) to prepare patients for our specialist optometrists.
  • Eyewear Styling & Dispensing Support: Guiding patients through our handpicked collection of luxury, bespoke frames to match their personal style and visual needs.
  • Practice Operations: Managing appointments, handling contact lens subscriptions, and keeping the practice looking immaculate.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Proven experience working as an Optical Assistant within an optical practice. You understand optical terminology, lens options, pre-screening tests, and frame adjustments.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills—you build trust and rapport naturally with patients of all ages.
  • Eye for Style: An appreciation for fashion, design, and detail to assist patients in selecting frames that look and feel incredible.
  • Team Player: Someone who thrives in a collaborative, friendly independent practice setting.
