Location: Swissport Head Office, Runcorn
Reporting to: Head of Legal UK & Ireland
Length of Contract: 6-month Fixed Term Contract commencing December 2026, with the possibility of extension if required
Swissport is the world's largest provider of ground and cargo handling services in the aviation industry. The Head of Legal UK & Ireland is looking for a Paralegal to join the Legal Department for a 6-month period.
Reporting to the Head of Legal UK&I, you will provide legal and commercial support to the business, with a particular focus on reviewing, drafting and supporting the negotiation of commercial contracts and agreements.
You will work closely with the Head of Legal and other in-house lawyers, as well as stakeholders across the business. You will provide practical support on legal matters and contractual issues, operating under the supervision and guidance of the in-house legal team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Paralegal looking to develop their legal experience within a market-leading global business.
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:
- Review, draft and support the negotiation of commercial contracts, including Standard Ground Handling Agreements, supplier and vendor agreements, NDAs and other commercial agreements.
- Provide support to the in-house legal team on contractual terms, obligations, liabilities and commercial risk.
- Support the Legal Department with contractual disputes and other ad hoc commercial legal queries.
- Review and advise on data protection and privacy agreements, including Data Processing Agreements.
- Provide support on compliance and regulatory matters, including anti-competition laws and anti-bribery and corruption requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Group Directives and Delegation of Authority requirements across the business.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders and provide clear, practical and commercially focused support to non-legal colleagues.
- Work closely with the Head of Legal and wider in-house legal team to ensure matters are progressed efficiently and appropriately.
- Undertake legal research and provide support on a range of legal matters as required.
- Occasional travel to airports within UK&I, subject to business need.

Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience reviewing, drafting and advising on commercial contracts is essential.
- Experience supporting the negotiation of commercial agreements is essential.
- Previous experience working within a legal team, law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Strong understanding of contractual principles, commercial risk and contract terms.
- Previous in-house legal experience is highly desirable.
- Experience of data protection and privacy matters, including Data Processing Agreements, is highly desirable.
- Aviation or other highly regulated industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand and communicate legal and commercial risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with non-legal colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, professional integrity and sound judgement.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Microsoft 365.
- Willingness to be present in the Head Office in Runcorn a minimum of 3 days per week.
