Salary: £50,000+ depending on experience
Sector: Life Sciences / Biotech
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced recruitment consultant to join a growing specialist Life Sciences recruitment business with the backing, infrastructure and financial strength of a larger established group.
This is a chance to join a new firm with an established platform behind it, giving you the best of both worlds: the entrepreneurial feel and autonomy of a smaller business, combined with the resources and stability that come with being backed by a larger group.
The business is building a long-term industry-leading desk, with a particular focus on the Biotech market, and is looking for ambitious recruiters who want the freedom to build their own market, develop client relationships and ultimately create something of their own.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll have significant autonomy over your desk and the opportunity to develop your own market within the Life Sciences sector.
Your focus will be on:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and candidates
- Winning new business and growing existing accounts
- Identifying and engaging senior-level talent within your specialist market
- Managing the full recruitment process from initial brief through to placement
- Building your own network and establishing yourself as a specialist within your chosen market
- Generating and attending client meetings
- Conducting candidate interviews and managing the process through to offer
- Developing and delivering pitches to prospective clients
- Growing your desk into a significant revenue-generating business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Environment
This isn't a heavily KPI-driven recruitment environment.
There are three key measures of activity:
- Meetings
- Interviews
- Pitches
There are no phone-time targets and no expectation that you spend your day hitting arbitrary activity numbers.
Instead, you'll be trusted to manage your own time, work in the way that gets the best results and take ownership of your desk.
The culture is highly flexible. The office is modern and professional, with the feel of a high-end WeWork-style environment, but it is not a shared workspace.
Office attendance is flexible, with the expectation that people come in when it works for them and their clients.
There are a few regular touchpoints throughout the week, including:
- Monday – 10am team meeting
- Wednesday – 11am business development huddle
- Friday – early finish
Regular team incentives, lunches and social activities
The Market
Biotech is the key priority, with opportunities across:
- Biotech
- TechBio
- Mid-Cap Pharma
- MedTech
The ambition is to develop a long-term industry-leading recruitment desk, rather than simply chase short-term placements.
Who We're Looking For
The preference is for candidates with proven recruitment experience, particularly those who have already demonstrated the ability to bill consistently and build a market.

Candidates with 1–3 years' recruitment experience who have demonstrated strong billing performance will also be considered.
What's On Offer?
This is an opportunity to join a business where you can genuinely build something of your own.
Alongside a competitive package, you'll have:
- £60,000+ salary depending on experience
- Significant autonomy over your desk and market
- Flexible office working
- Minimal micromanagement and no phone-time targets
