We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our friendly and supportive small animal practice in Tilehurst, Reading. Conveniently located within the Pets at Home store at Reading Retail Park, our practice benefits from excellent transport links, free onsite parking, modern facilities, and state-of-the-art equipment, creating an enjoyable and well-equipped working environment.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident RVN who enjoys all aspects of nursing and is keen to take an active role within a collaborative team. You'll be encouraged to fully utilise your clinical skills, from inpatient care and anaesthetic monitoring through to nurse consultations, patient admissions and discharges.

You'll be supported by an experienced and welcoming team consisting of:

  • 2.5 Veterinary Surgeons
  • 1 Head Veterinary Nurses
  • 1 Registered Veterinary Nurses
  • 2 Student Veterinary Nurses
  • 1 Veterinary Care Assistants
  • 5 Client Care Advisors

Our dedicated VCAs and Student Veterinary Nurse provide excellent support with theatre preparation, patient care and consultations, allowing our RVNs to focus on delivering the highest standard of nursing care.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who:

  • Is confident in all areas of general nursing
  • Enjoys delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is compassionate, approachable and genuinely passionate about animal welfare
  • Enjoys supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture

Hours

We understand the importance of work-life balance and are happy to consider both full and part-time applicants.

  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • No out-of-hours
  • Flexible working patterns available
